Horse Training, Sales, Showing, and More

March 2009

I recently took a few kids from Horses, Hope, and Healing to a show at Auburn Equestrian. I would like to congratulate them all! Breanna placed in EVERY class! Kerina was successful, but her horse, Ultimate Renegade, went lame after her second flat class. Amy showed Beej and was placing near the top in her over fences classes. Congratulations to all of you! I also showed four horses. The first horse I showed in the 3'6 hunters and the 3' jumpers. We didn't place in the hunters, but we were second in the jumpers. I also was asked to catch ride a lovely arabian named Khandlelight. She was second in the 2'6 jumpers, it was even her first time showing over 2'3. Congratulations to her owner, Hannah Cooper. I also showed my mom's horse, Maestro, and we were first in the bareback equitation, walk/trot. The fourth and final horse was my own, Farmore Phenomenal. I showed him in the walk/trot/canter bareback equitation and was second. I was also offered another ride, but turned it down because I wasn't planning on being there.

May 2009

As the horse show season picks up, we are able to attend more shows. The first show we recently attended was SAHJA Medal Finals, held at Leone Equestrians Inc. Emily Ose and Picture This were first in both the walk-trot classes, and fifth in the crossbars class. This was Pippin's show under saddle and everyone was blown away at her behavior. Emily Ose also showed Sam Ose's horse, Maestro in the jumpers. Later that night, Emily and Sam braided 4 tails and 1 mane for the medal finals the next day. We were wiped out for the clinic on Sunday!

Our most recent show was the Sacramento County Fair. Emily Ose and Bethany Hatley showed here. Maestro and Emily were first in unregistered two and older halter geldings, and were reserve champion out of all the geldings! During the next two classes, Emily and Rusty took second. These two classes were Equitation and Pleasure on the flat. Saturday was Emily's fun day, when she competed in jumping, and the bareback equiation. She was third in the bareback equitation, and won the working hunter and equiation over fences. She was not as successful in the jumpers, placing second.

Bethany Hatley took her leased mare, Moon. This was Moon's first show and only Bethany's third show! Their first class was showmanship on thursday, but unfortunatly did not place in that class. Bethany competed int he walk-trot novice classes after thata. She placed fourth out of eleven in the pleasure, and third out of eleven in the equitation! On Saturday, Moon was entered in the hunter hack, taking second. Sunday was gymkana. Bethany won the single stake race, the quadrangle stake race, adn the cloverleaf barrels. She made a goal to control Moon better in the pole bending class, and by achieving that took sixth place. Monday, Bethany dressed Moon up as a carousel horse adn took first place in the costume class.

We would also like to congratulate Kristin Peterson on the birth of a beautiful filly! China has been pregnant and popped out a beautiful bay filly with four white socks and a star. She is absolutly adorable.

So we would like to welcome Bethany Hatley and Moon to our program. We are still accepting clients for the summer show season and training.

June 2009

June has been a month off for the horses, except for Rusty, who competed at the pony club rally.

August 2009

August was a big month. First, congratulations to Brett Bonotto on seeling Penny. Brett and Kristen leave on the first for UC Santa Barbara.

Later this month, Emily Ose and Rusty went up to Auburn, Washington for the United States Pony Club Pacific Coast Championships. Emily competed on a team with Anna Dillier (trained by Tina Cornish) riding a borrowed mount named Penny, Sammy Smith (trained by Dick Widger) riding Aragon, Jane Zanzig (trainer unknown) riding Beam Me Up Scotty, and Olivia Ranft (trainer unknown) as their stable manager.  The team was Champion for the horse 1 division, and they were Reserve Champion in the horse management. Sammy Smith was champion in the equitation round with an 84. Emily was third in the round with an 80, Jane recieved a 78 for fourth, and Anna was sixth with a 76.

Also, Emily Ose, Kristin Peterson, Sam Ose, and Cara Choy atteneded the SAHJA Championship/tie breaker show at Leone Equestrians. Emily started the day off, competeing on Cara's sale horse, Paradise Found. Paradise Found placed reserve out of 12 in the hopeful jumpers 2'3. Next, Kristin took a horse she was borrowing, named Riley, into several classes, in the ribbons every time. Sam was third to ride, but didn't place in any classes. Cara later rode Paradise Found, placing fifth in the Long Stirrup Equitation. Emily finished off the day on Maestro in the 3'6 and 3'9 classes.
