Angel

A Whittle Angel is a yearling (4/2/08) AQHA filly. We do have her
papers, and she is very well bred with very strong cutting lines. Her
pedigree can be seen
here. Her full brother sold last year as a yearling
for $5k! Angel is a sweet filly, but she can be stubborn. She leads,
ties, picks up all four feet and trailers. Angel came from a show barn
and is used to be being pampered. Angel is currently a little upright in
her front pasterns, but has been seen by two vets who feel she will
grow out of it. Angel has been well cared for her whole life, and is
looking for an experienced home who can continue that level of care,
and further her training. Angel is UTD on everything.

Update~ Angel was seen by our vet and she is clubfooted in both front
feet. He feels with corrective shoeing, she will be fine for pleasure and
low level showing.

Fee: $500.00

Walter

Walter is a 23 yr old 16.2 TB gelding. He is very sweet and loves
to nuzzle your face. He is a thinner built TB, but is in excellent
health for his age, and is barefoot. He is 23 going on 3! He has
been pampered most his life, and is looking for a home to
continue that standard of care. Walter is very well trained, and
loves to jump. He is not a trail horse. Walter can be somewhat
hot at times, and will require an intermediate rider or above, but
he is never dangerous. No buck, rear or kick. He is a typical TB.
Walter prefers pasture, or a large paddock with a buddy. We will
ride Walter next weekend once he settles in. He is sound, UTD
on all shots, de-worming and dental care.

Update~ Walter is a very forward horse and will require an upper
intermediate rider or above. He is somewhat hard mouthed, but is
well trained. He loves to jump and has tons of energy and could
go all day. He has nice movement and a wonderful canter. He is
very sweet and loves one on one attention. Walter is the first one
up to us in the pasture. He has decent ground manners and
respects your space. Walter is very sound and in very good
shape for his age, no one who see's him believes he is 23!
Walter is looking for his next human to bond with.

Update~ Walter is doing extremely well and is walking and
trotting on a loose rein. He has really calmed down and is not
nearly as forward. He has a lovely trot and canter. Walter would
be a lovely arena horse for an upper confident beginner with a
trainer or an intermediate rider. Walter is well trained and has alot
to teach someone.

Update~ Walter is doing really well in the arena and is currently
being ridden  and jumped by our 13 yr old volunteer regularly.

Fee: $500.00 - A steal for a horse like this!

Rose

Rose is a 20 yr old  registered OTTB 16.2 mare. We do have her
papers. She is absolutely gorgeous and very WB built. She has
been a broodmare and a trail mare for many years. Her owner
also used her to pony her babies on trail. Rose is very sweet, and
has a great mind. She seems to be very easy going and patient.
She is sound, healthy and UTD on all shots and de-worming.
Rose is also scheduled for a dental with Dr. Bravos on tues. Rose
prefers to be in pasture, and needs to stay on a 6 week farrier
schedule. We will take her on a trail ride this weekend.

Update~ We rode Rose today and she was lovely. She is a little
fidgety when tied, and we lunged her before we rode her, but she
was excellent. We took her through a field, and also on streets
and she did perfect. No spook, led or followed and was just a
nice, very well behaved mare. She is more of the slow, pokey
type on trail, but is very willing to move out if asked. She is in
full blown heat right now, and was still a calm, well behaved girl.

Update~ Rose has been ridden on many trail rides and is very
good on trail. You can pony off her, she will cross anything and
is a nice ride. She can still be fidgety sometimes when tied, but
we have been working on it, and most of the time, she stands
quietly. She is best suited for a confident rider, as she can be
pushy and take advantage of you if given the opportunity. She is
a sweet mare, and gorgeous to boot!

Update~ Rose is currently being fostered in Davis at Jump For
Joy Riding Academy where she is being used as a beginner
lesson horse. She now has excellent ground manners and is being
shown as well. She has also learned to jump!

Fee: $850.00

Shadow

Shadow is a 3 yr old (5/13/06) registered AQHA mare. Her registered
name is Reno's Bar Shadow. She is by Smokeroni Cat and out of
Reno's Smokey Bar. Her sire's info is
here. She came off a ranch up
north, where she was born a premie, and given to a little girl to
become her mount. Shadow does have a severe parrot mouth, so she
did not fare well on the short grazing grass that was available on the
pasture she lived on. She was going to be returned to the rancher that
originally owner her, but he was going to shoot her, so she came to
us. She is a very cute little filly. She is greenbroke, and though her
ground manners need work, she is pretty decent under saddle. She
stands for mounting, and will w/t and neck rein pretty consistently
under saddle. Shadow is looking for an experienced home that can
bring her along in her training. She is a sweet, willing filly, with tons
of potential. She is sound, barefoot and UTD on everything. Shadow
will need yearly dental care for her parrot mouth, but otherwise she is
an easy keeper and easily able to just eat hay.

Adoption Fee $650

Fox Lady

Foxy is a 19 yr old, 15.0 QH/TB/Appy cross. She has had one owner
her whole life, and she was donated because her owner was facing a
very serious illness and was unable to afford her care. Foxy is said to
be very well broke english and western, and well suited for a beginner
rider. Her owner rode her bareback in a halter and lead. She is a little
underweight right now, and most likely needs her teeth floated. She
will see our vet, Dr. Bravos next week. We will evaluate her under
saddle this weekend.

Update~ Foxy is a nice mare with nice training. She can be a bit pushy
on the ground, and will need a handler that can remind her of her
manners. She is very attached to Molly, so we have separated them to
allow Molly to gain weight, and Foxy to get over her attachment. She
stood well for grooming and tacking up. She was good for mounting
and dismounting as well. She rides nicely, and has a lovely slow jog,
but can also go into a nice extended trot. She does walk out, and is
great on trail. She didn't spook at a thing, and was overall a really nice
ride. She is a lovely mover.

Update~ Foxy received a dental, shots and a lameness exam today
from Dr. Bravos. She is very slightly off in her right front, but her feet
are in very poor shape with very uneven angles and she was positive
to hoof testers, and sound with a block, so Dr. Bravos feels she just
needs her feet done. Otherwise she travels great and should make
someone a super nice mare.

Update~ Foxy got front shoes today and was decent for the farrier.
She stands well for trims and filing, but does not like the hammering in
of the nails. She also went for another trail ride and did great. She
seems to be over her attachment to Molly, which is greatly improving
her ground manners. She also knows a few tricks. Foxy will say "yes"
and give kisses. It is really cute! Foxy is mare-ish, and though she has
thus far been a beginner type riding mount, she will require a more
confident handler. She is wonderful if you are confident and remind
her of her manners, but she would walk over a timid handler.

Update~ Foxy is being fostered in Vacaville and will be trail ridden
often by her foster mom
. Her ground manners have greatly improved.

Adoption Fee 900.00

Dawsey

Dawsey is a registered 15.3 6 yr old OTTB gelding. Dawsey is
gorgeous and has an excellent start under saddle. He can w/t/c, and
has been started over cavalletti. He easily goes on the bit and is very
responsive. Dawsey is very patient with a great mind.He is a
wonderful gelding that will easily go far with a little more finishing. He
is not a beginner's horse, as he is still young and needs someone who
can further his training. He has good ground manners, he clips, ties,
stands for the farrier, and loads. Dawsey is full body clipped so he will
require a blanket in pasture or a stall.  Dawsey is sound, and UTD on
everything.

Update~ We have ridden Dawsey on two trail rides and he did
wonderfully He neck reins very well, and is very good on trail. He is
happy to lead or follow, isn't spooky and is pretty calm on trail. He
also jumps beautifully with wonderful form. Dawsey is wonderful all
around gelding. He would be a perfect Pony Club mount.

Adoption Fee $1500.00

Cambridge

Cambridge is 16.1 22 yr old registered OTTB mare. We do have
papers. Cambridge was a child's equitation and english flat horse,
as well a trail horse. She has sat for the last three years, after her
owner left for college. She is a little mare-ish with other horses,
but is good on the ground. She clips, bathes, loads and stands for
the vet and farrier. She stands perfectly for mounting and
dismounting, and has a great whoa. She was a little jiggy on trail,
but not at all spooky. We will ride her further as soon as the
weather improves. Cambridge just received a full dental, all her
shots, and front shoes.

Update~ We rode Cambridge on a 2 hour trail ride and she did
wonderfully. She started out a little jiggy, but quickly calmed
down. Cambridge is not at all spooky and happily passed cars,
bikes, motorcycles, dogs, and even a bird flying out right in front
of her. Cambridge does not like other horses close to her rear
end, and will kick, but was fine with them on her side, or in front
of her. Cambridge is very light and moves very easily off seat
and leg pressure.

Update~ We rode Cammie on a very long trail ride from Cal
Expo to Old Sac this weekend and she did wonderfully. No jig at
all, and she crossed bridges, and passed bikers, joggers, cars,
boats, strollers, ect. She even stood next to the train in Old Sac.
Nothing at all spooked her. She also has a very hunter way of
going. Cammie is a total packer under saddle, however she does
not tie at all, and should not be handled by a beginner on the
ground. She seems to get claustrophobic when tied. Cammie
would be best suited for an intermediate handler who wants a
safe, fun trail ride with no fuss or spook under saddle.

Adoption Fee $600.00

Lady

Lady is a 22 yr old (6/15/87) registered 14.3 AQHA mare. Her
registered name is Lady Sun Rose and she is by Sun Bars Star and out
of Sietz Sweet Heart. Her pedigree can be seen
here. Lady has done
alot in her life. She was a money earning reiner, she has done working
ranch horse, moved cattle, and was most recently a division 1 barrel
mare. Lady loves trails and is a blast to ride for a confident upper
beginner and above. Lady is very safe, no buck, rear or spook, and is
probably one of the most game, willing mares we have ever worked
with, but she does like to go. She is easily held back, but would be too
much horse for a timid rider. Lady is also a bit pushy on the ground,
so a confident handler would be best. Lady is gorgeous, with a thick
mane and tail. She would be great for ranch work, as she loves to
work cattle. We took her to a roping and she was wonderful.
Lady has
very comfy gaits!
Lady does have front shoes, and is happy living in
pasture with others, or in a stall. She was a show horse most her life,
thus living mostly in a stall, but is now enjoying living in a small herd
in a 3 acres pasture. Lady is UTD on everything and just had a dental.

Adoption Fee $800.00 - Adoption Pending

Belle

Belle was donated as a coming 4 yr old Shetland Arab X pony. Based
on her teeth, we believe her to be younger, but we will have her vetted
to be exact. She is about 13 hands and cute as a button! She is pretty
well put together and is a very nice mover. Belle is very green and
pretty scared of most things. She did hop right in the trailer, but can
be wary about being caught. She stood ok for the farrier for her front
feet, but was very scared about him working on her back feet. Belle is
very sweet, but will need a patient, experienced handler to bring her
along. She will make a gorgeous mount when trained.

Update~ Belle was seen by our vet and is 4 yrs old. Her ground
manners have improved, and she easy to catch, but she is still scared
of things. We attempted to saddle and bridle her and she was very
nervous. We do not believe she is broke to ride and will need lots of
training. Belle has tons of potential, especially in the hunter world, but
will need a trainer or experienced rider to break her.

Adoption Fee $650.00

Apache

Tabby

Tabitha is a 24 yr old, 15.0 Morgan/QH cross mare. Tabby is a
very sweet mare with excellent ground manners. She ties, loads,
stands for the vet and farrier, and is excellent for grooming,
tacking up, mounting and dismounting. We rode Tabby on trail
and she was a very good girl. She still has lots of spunk and
loves to trot and canter. She neck reins and has an excellent
whoa. We ponied a gelding off her and she was excellent, even
when another horse on the trail was misbehaving. She is not at all
spooky and seems very safe. She would be best suited for a very
confident beginner and up, as she does like to move out. Tabby
did great bareback as well, and would be happy to lead the kids
around. Tabby is wonderful little mare and is a really fun ride.
Tabby is UTD on all shots, farrier care and dentistry. She loves
other horses and does best in pasture.

Update~ Tabby does have a little arthritis in her front feet. She
will require a small does of bute before her trail rides, but with it
she is wonderful. We are also going to put front shoes on her to
make her more comfortable. She went on another trail ride and
was fabulous. She walked calmly, and was happy to trot and
canter when asked. She is very responsive and just a very fun
little mare. Tabby would be perfect for a confident child or
smaller adult who likes to trail ride and move out. She is very
safe, and a fun ride.
